Jummah is an Australian streetwear brand creating unisex pieces that blend modern Eastern and Western influences. The aesthetic is modern and modest, with strong cultural meaning. Meet the Founder(s)

Sharin’s experience growing up between cultures led her to start Jummah. She spent years navigating different spaces and pushing to be heard, from growing up as a “Muslim girl in Western Sydney” to building a career in law at large corporations. Motherhood made Sharin further reflect on her experiences and the kind of world she wanted to for her child. She created Jummah for people who have felt overlooked or caught in between cultures. The name means “Friday” in multiple languages. A day that is tied to reflection, gathering, and community across many cultures. That idea sits at the heart of the brand. For Sharin, clothing is not just about style. It is a way to express culture, pride, and solidarity.

Brand Values

People

A strong part of Jummah’s identity is its social impact. The brand focuses on representation for minority communities, and aims to create space for more inclusive narratives in fashion. This purpose-led approach is central to its mission. It has also used its collections to support social justice causes, including donating 20% of profits from their first collection to MATW Project for aid in Palestine. Jummah works closely with female creatives in Australia. Some pieces locally printed and hand-embroidered in Sydney by women of minority and/or migrant backgrounds.

There is still limited full supply chain transparency. However, the brand does share some direction. It states that it works with BSCI-audited manufacturers rated over 90% “Green”.  Which generally indicates strong performance across areas like working conditions, fair pay, and worker protections within the audit system. Looking ahead, Jummah aims to introduce a combined supplier code of conduct by 2028. This shows a clear commitment to improving ethical practices over time.

Environment

Jummah works exclusively with natural fibres. Currently, this is primarily 100% cotton. The brand commits to using fibres that are biodegradable at end of life.

It follows a low-volume production model, releasing small runs to avoid overproduction. Pieces are designed for longevity, with a focus on long-term wear over trends.

There is limited detail on fabric sourcing, current dye processes, or environmental impact data. But the brand has set clear goals for 2027, for all their production to use low-waste cutting techniques, upcycling leftover materials, and moving to certified non-toxic dyes. Packaging is already mostly plastic-free, with orders arriving in reusable cotton totes. It is working towards a fully plastic-free system end to end.

Animals

The brand does not appear to use animal-derived materials, but there is no further information provided.
