Natural Fibres
Citizen Wolf creates custom-fit everyday clothing made to order in Sydney. The brand focuses on well-fitting basics and smart casual pieces designed to be worn regularly and last over time. Each garment is made using the brand’s fit technology, which uses your measurements to create a personalised pattern rather than standard sizing. Customers can submit measurements online or visit their store for an in-person fitting. Materials include organic cotton and other lower-impact fabrics, with a focus on durability and comfort. The brand also offers free remakes until the fit is right, free repairs for life, and a take-back program to recycle worn garments, supporting a more circular approach to clothing.

Meet the Founder(s)

Zoltan Csaki, Eric Phu and Rahul Mooray set out to rethink how clothing is made after realising how wasteful and inefficient the fashion industry had become. None of them had a traditional background in fashion, which gave them a fresh perspective on the problem. They saw a system built on overproduction, poor fit and excess waste, and believed there had to be a better way. Starting with a small micro-factory in Sydney, they began building a model based on making clothes one at a time, only when needed. What began as an idea between friends has grown into Citizen Wolf today, driven by a shared goal to create a more responsible, better-fitting and less wasteful way of making everyday clothing.

Brand Values

People

Citizen Wolf’s final stage of production takes place in Sydney and is certified by Ethical Clothing Australia. This certification ensures workers are paid fairly and work under legal conditions. The brand operates its own factory, which is open to the public, offering a high level of transparency into how garments are made.

The brand states that around 85% of its fabrics are sourced from Melbourne, keeping much of the supply chain local and reducing reliance on overseas production.

Citizen Wolf has also taken steps to address broader supply chain risks. It voluntarily opted into Australia’s Modern Slavery Act and worked with organisations such as The Freedom Hub to review and strengthen its approach to ethical sourcing and human rights.

Beyond production, the brand supports social impact initiatives. It partners with The Social Outfit, a Sydney-based organisation that supports refugee and migrant women through employment and training in fashion, and has also hired team members from this program.

Environment

Citizen Wolf’s environmental approach is built around reducing waste at every stage of production. The brand operates on a made to order model, which eliminates overproduction, one of the biggest contributors to fashion waste. This is a key reason it receives a “Great” rating for environment on Good On You.

Materials are another strong focus. The brand uses a high proportion of lower impact fibres including organic cotton, hemp and merino wool. These materials generally require fewer chemicals and can reduce water and wastewater impact compared to conventional alternatives. All materials are listed clearly, and the brand also shares detailed education on fabrics through its website and social channels.

A major differentiator is its circular model. Citizen Wolf offers free repairs for life, alongside a take back program where old pieces are returned, recycled into yarn, and used to create new fabrics. Production offcuts are also reused, with the goal of sending nothing to landfill.

Local manufacturing also plays a role. Most garments are made in Sydney, with a large portion of fabrics knitted in Australia. This shortens the supply chain and reduces transport related emissions compared to offshore production.

Animals

Citizen Wolf does use animal-derived materials, primarily merino wool. The brand states that its wool is sourced from non-mulesed sheep and is certified under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), which aims to ensure better animal welfare practices and traceability.
