Meet the Founder(s)

Alice Kavanagh Federici started Al Elé after selling her university collections at local Melbourne markets. What began as a way to share her designs gradually became her business, which she now runs alongside her mum, Donna. She is passionate about designing clothing that flatters different shapes and sizes.

Environment

Al Elé works with a slow fashion approach model and design to last. Their clothes are made to order in Melbourne, to avoid excess stock and unnecessary waste. They work primarily with 100% natural fibres such as cotton, linen, wool, and silk, and have also produced collections using deadstock fabrics (unused materials that would otherwise go to waste). The brand acknowledges that it is not 100 % sustainable but strives to reduce impact through mindful material choices and slow production.
